Why This Library

Why This Library

Every school has classrooms. Every school has textbooks. Many schools have libraries. So why did we create the Dominion Reading Library?

Because we believe reading is one of the greatest investments that can be made in a child's future.

The freedom to keep learning

Before a child learns to read, knowledge is largely limited to what others can teach them. After a child learns to read, they gain something extraordinary: the freedom to continue learning for the rest of their lives. A child who reads is no longer limited by the walls of a classroom.

Through books, children explore history, discover science, understand other cultures, meet remarkable people and wrestle with the ideas that have shaped the world. Reading enlarges both the mind and the heart.

A love of reading is nurtured

A love of reading rarely happens by accident. It grows when children are surrounded by books, when stories are read aloud, when adults model the joy of reading, when questions are encouraged and curiosity is celebrated.

Raising Royals who read

Our mission is raising Kingdom royals who rule with truth, character and knowledge. Knowledge begins with reading, and that is why we built this library: not simply to recommend books, but to help families build a culture of reading at school and at home.
